When an alert is triggered, Avenue's Playbook steps come into play, allowing teams to streamline the process of resolving issues from start to finish. Playbooks are digital workflows, often known as runbooks, playbooks, how-to’s, or SOPs, that operations teams can customize and automate to fit their unique needs.


Avenue's Playbook steps are a suite of actions and decision-making tools that not only optimize workflows but also enhance efficiency through automation. From managing tasks and organizing data to facilitating advanced decision-making and streamlining communications, Avenue equips users with the ability to tailor their workflows precisely.


Below, we'll walk through each Playbook step’s function and benefit. 

Task Assignment

Task: Describe a task that needs to be completed. This step allows users to specify tasks within the playbook.

Communication

Question: Ask the assignee a question, allowing for either multiple choice or free-response answers. This step is designed to gather information or decisions from users.


Notify Action: Send the signal to other destinations, such as creating tickets or notifying stakeholders. It facilitates communication and updates across different platforms or team members.


Add Comment Action: Add a contextual comment to the signal, enabling users to provide additional information or clarification.

Data Management

Label: Add a label to provide more context within the playbook. Labels help in categorizing or highlighting important aspects of the signal.


Set Property Action: Change the signal's status, assignee, or priority level, allowing for dynamic updates to the signal's properties.


Add Tag Action: Add one or more tags to the signal, helping in organizing or categorizing signals for easier retrieval and identification.


Form: Fill out an Avenue Form to capture structured data from users. This step is useful for collecting specific information required for the signal.

Workflow Control

Parallel Branch: Add parallel groups of steps to execute multiple paths concurrently. This enables the playbook to handle complex workflows efficiently.


Question Branch: Ask the assignee a question, then branch the workflow based on their answer. This allows for dynamic decision-based progression in the playbook.


If Else Branch: Add conditional branches to the workflow, facilitating the execution of different paths based on certain conditions.


Delay Action: Introduce a delay before advancing to the next step, useful for timing or waiting for external events.

Advanced Features
